WaxHeart is an atmospheric puzzle adventure where you play as a wax child with a lantern for a heart, journeying through a dark, ruined world in search of their lost memory. It’s an adventure set in a sunless world filled with monsters and mysteries. The light from your lantern-heart helps you find your way through the darkness, but also alerts monsters of your presence. As you explore, you will discover the cruel fate of the world, and the role you play in it.



About Us

Hello from the Waxheart Team!What started off as a thesis project for Laguna College of Art + Design’s Game Design MFA program has now grown into a team of developers who’ve volunteered countless hours to creating the kind of game they can be proud to be involved in. This team consists of industry professionals, game development students from several Southern California universities and beyond, and recent grads looking to break into the industry.This blend of experience levels has provided a place for so many talented individuals to find direct mentorship, bolstering their resumes as they seek out careers in the games industry. Over the two years of production, Waxheart has contributed to at least a dozen team members finding their first industry jobs.

The credits below include all team members who have contributed to the project over the course of its production, including Waxheart Alumni who have now moved on to studios such as Blizzard, SuperGenius Studios, and William Chyr Studio.As the project evolves, the team has ambitions of taking the game to a full release, and with that, start a brand new indie studio. The Waxheart team is currently seeking funding to fully realize its vision for the project.

We began pre-production in February 2022 as a thesis project at LCAD, and transitioned to a full production after graduation in May 2023.
